Address given by Councilman David M. Kaiserman to the Borough of Sayreville on 1/1/2009

Good  Morning and Happy New Year to everyone!

It is a great privilege and honor to be up here this morning to be able to speak before you.  The past year has indeed been challenging but we have also made some impressive progress.  As we look forward to the future of Sayreville, we must do so while analyzing the world around us. A troubled national economy, problems with auto and financial institutions, and increasing instability in the Middle East all impact us indirectly as residents.  However, it is your local officials that directly impact you more than any other form of government which is why I have made it my personal mission to work diligently to do everything I can to work for everyone in Sayreville.  ------  President Eisenhower once said - Whatever America hopes to bring to pass in the world must first come to pass in the heart of America.” So as many of us consider the world around us important – I also consider the town of Sayreville to be my personal priority to represent and to protect - and in order to make the world a better place – I believe it should start right here in Sayreville.   Therefore, I can assure everyone here this morning that I will use my knowledge and experience in cooperation with my fellow colleagues- to keep this town an excellent place to live, work, and raise a family.  I would also like to thank all the Borough Workers, Police, Professionals, and volunteers on the many boards and commissions we have in addition to our wonderful First Aid Squads and Fire Department and all the people that live in Sayreville that make us an excellent community.  With this said – Happy Holidays, Happy New Year, and God Bless America and the troops that give us the ability to be here this morning.  Thank you.
